I’ve found interesting the article describing sport swimming bodies how they are trying to develop the best swimsuit for coming Olympic Games in Paris. They definitely are limited by materials and designs, but nevertheless the are trying hard to engineer as the most flexible swimsuit as is possible. Currently is being tested the newest one. It’s very easy to put on, actually it takes 2 minutes instead usually 10 minutes, and the test followed with video recording definitely proves not even its flexibility in the water, but it’s ability to avoid creating bubbles which means that racer’s perfomance should be more smoother and faster as well.
I have chosen the news about Poo museum in England. The museum is in the Wight Isle in England. The founder of the museum is the man, who came across the poo in the wild with other his friends and they were fascinated about it. They claim it is possible to find out a lot of information about animals from which the poo comes from.
Special statue in Manchester – An old Egyptian statue at the Manchester Museum rotates. This statue is 25-cm hight. Scientists wanted to find out the reason for this. The base of statue is convex. About 6 o´clock morning and at the evening, when the traffic next to the museum is big, this traffic causes the vibrations and the statue moves – No supernatural forces 🙂
That amused me! A really good read.
I have read the article about saving the ocens, or rather about an effort to do something for elimination of pollution of world’s sees and oceans. The artical says, that for now more than 100 countries have underscribed the agreement about a protection of the high seas. Already before that experts have said, that very few of the high seas are subject to any protection, and pollution, acidification, and overfishing pose a growing threat. The agreement has to be ratified yet.
I have chosen an article about women in Afghanistan. During years 1996-2001 women had to cover their face with burka or some clothes. Now, this Taliban rule is valid again. Women couldn’t be outside without a man and the trouble for the father or male of this woman is (i) a prison or (ii) loss his job. The schools are closed for girls too. This rules are against women’s right, but Taliban has very strong positions in Afghanistan, there is no chance for changes now.
The article what I have read, isabout how the companies store inventory. In the past the companies had quite big store of materials and parts for their fluent production. But it costs a lot of money. So an Japanesse engenieer and businessman Taichi Ohno, who worked for Toyota company, invented a new system for the supplying materials and parts for the production -to do not keep big store of inventory, but to order only the materials and parts, what are necessery for the production. This system save a lot of money. But the problem comes if the supply chain is disrupted or the demand of the company´s production increses.
I have read “Helicopter without pilots”.
For the first time this helicopter flew with no pilots in Kentucky, US. The flight lasted about for 30 minutes. It flew through a simulated city. This technology helps pilots to fokus on other things. The helicopter can fly at night and when the weather is bad as well.
That’s such an amazing story, Vera! Technology really does change the way the world works.
P.S. focus 😉
I read news “Russia and Ukraine”.
The news maps the situation between Russia and Ukraine. The situation is very difficult.
The conflict between these countries began in 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea.
Since then thousands of people died and millions left their homes.
These days Russia sends its troops to the border with Ukraine, but Russian president Putin denies that it is planning any invasion. Russia wants guarantees, that Ukraine wouldn’t join its NATO defensive group.
I read a news from London about a very little fox, which wandered of in to a home of one vet.
This fox cub hided itself in to a dishwasher at the kitchen.
Fortunately came a rescuer or “savior”, the owner of this house and set the frightened animal free.
