I work as an accountant. It seldom happens I have a lot of stress or have to work overtimes. So I think I am perfectly able to balanced my personal life and my working life. I have been working three times a week from home since covid spreaded and that I apreciate a lot and my dog apreciates as well. 🐕
I have been on maternity leave for five years. The first two years I have been worked like accountant and took care about small baby. It was very difficult and stressfull to keep the terms. When I had the second child I made a decision to stop working. I am going to find new job on September 2024. I will see how I set my work – life balance.
I work as a barista in a busy Cafe in Australia. I love my job, I love making coffees and chatting with people. Unfortunately my work-life balance wasn’t great this year. I worked long hours, sometimes 13 days in a row, it was exhausting and I didn’t have any time for myself and my hobbies.
Last two months I have been trying to change it. I finally have standard hours and I work five days a week. Also have more time for my friends and hobbies.
My employer realized that he can’t burn me out, because I am his key employee. And he has been helpful and understanding ever since. He regularly ask if I am happy with my hours at the cafe.
I would like to also mention environment of the cafe, which is absolutely disaster. There is no day without anyone complaining about something and everyone looks really sad, the energy of the team is really unhappy. Sometimes there are good days, but its not many of them.
I wish I could have work in a team, which has good and happy energy. Work with people who loves their job and who loves to share their energy with customers.
I work as director in the monastery and this job always was a dream job for me. I started the job on maternity leave and I managed my work and take care of my children too. I still like my job, but unfortunately situation changed two times ago.
We have office-workers in České Budějovice and in Prag too. They are supposed to help us but they spend time mainly on administration and they don’t know operation in castles and monasteries.
In Covid-time they worked home-office and they had to prove that they are useful even when they aren’t in the office. Therefore they began to invent a lot of directives, orders, manuals, regulations, etc. Since this time they have been sending a lot of emails with useless questions or stupid tasks. And I do paperwork now and I can’t so much to be in the monastery that I love.
The situation is frustrating and demotivation 🙁
I have a job which is also my hobby. I work with my husband as restorer. It’s really interesting work and I like to spend time with my husband. There is only one disadvantage: we sometimes don’t know how long a certain work takes time, so sometimes it is stressful.
Do you feel like you have separate time at home for working and for resting when your work and home life is so connected?
I ran my own café, I worked seven days per week. It was demanding and I was very exhausted. One month ago I closed my business due to Covid. I hope I’ll gain strenght and I’ll jump forward to new working adventure. 🙂
I work as a teacher in the special school for children with hearing impairment. My common working day starts at 7.15 a.m. and I usually leave my school at 2 or 2.30 p.m. I often continue to work at home and sometime at the weekends as well. I prepare the tests for children, create some practice tasks for them or evaluate their school work. My job is very special, responsible and demanding and I like it so much.
