Vocabulary in use Exercise
Fill in the gaps with the following words:
- GRATEFUL – ADOPT – GET – FIRST – RECHARGE -ORDER – EMPOWER
In order to be happy it is important to adopt the attitude of gratitude. It will empower you and help you recharge your batteries. At first it might be difficult, but you should get started right now. Spend a minute or two every day to think about what you can be grateful for. - ENVY – PAMPER – ANTIDOTE – BENEFICIAL – THEN – MAKES
It also makes sense to define your self-worth and pamper yourself now and then with things you love and enjoy. It is extremely beneficial and it is a perfect antidote to the poisonous feeling of envy . - SURROUND – DRAIN – CONTAGIOUS – BRING – BETTER – FAVOUR
Do yourself a favour and surround yourself with positive people. A good mood is contagious but so is a bad mood. So spend time with people who bring out the best in you. You’d better avoid people who just drain your energy. - HABIT – GO – FEEL – CONSCIOUSLY – RESENTMENT
And last but not least, let go of feelings of resentment toward other people and most of all toward yourself and smile more often. Even if you don’t feel like it, smile. Do it consciously and make it your daily habit to smile at the world. The world will smile back at you.
