I agree with other students with the problem of light in Mr. Brown’s study. At first Ms. Giles said that she saw Mr. Brown to come into the room and commit a suicide. Then she continued that she broke the window, ran upstairs, opened the door to the study and switched on the light. She had to lie because she couldn’t see anything from her house due to dark in the Mr. Brown’s study before.
Inspector McKan did not like in statement of the main witness, Mrs Giles.
First time: Nobody drinks a cup of coffee at 10:45 p.m. when they want to go to bed.
Second: If I see my neighbor shooting himself in the head on the first floor, I immediately call the police and an ambulance.
Third: then I go to help him.
Fourth: Ms. Giles was Mr. Braun’s accountant. She told him in the morning that his company was going bankrupt. That may not have been true.
I agree with other students. Problem was in the lihgt and dark at the window. Ms Gilles lied about it. By the way, Soňa, your reading was great -very dramatic 🙂 Thank you for the fun lesson 🙂
Thank you, Evi. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Ms Giles sad: “I had saw light in Mr. Brown’s study and through the window… ” and than she said: “I had opened the door, had switched on the light and had run to the dead body.” One of two things isn’t true. Ms. Giless lies, she is liar and probably murdered her boss.
Yes, Jirka! Great detective job! You are right!
Ms Giles sad, that she saw light in Mr. Brown’s study and everything that is happening inside. But when she describe what she was doing, she switch on the light. And it was strange that she was wearing in warm jacket.
Ms. Giles said “I saw light in Mr. Brown’s study and through the window I saw him come into the room and walk over to his desk.” But then she said “I opened the door, switched on the light…” She contradicts. If she saw the suicide of Mr. Brown the light had to be put on. And she didn’t have to switch on the light when she came into the room.
If she was to see Mr. Brown’s suicide, he would have to turn on the lights. But the room was dark.
Ms. Giles said she saw a suicide through the window (at 10p.m.), but when she came in study she had to turn on the light. She woulden’t be able to see anything in the dark.
I don´t know who is murder but I think that intersting person is Ms Giles. She saw her neighbour and boss in the window. She talked about suicide but when Mr. Brown arrived, he saw opened the door and Ms. Giles had warm jacket. When I would see a suicide, I would run in my home dress. But I´m not an detective. 🙂
The suspicious thing was that she went to Mr. Brown’s house. When she saw what happened, she should have called the police and an ambulance immediately.
